Buying a home — formalities

Buying an apartment in Warsaw and other Polish cities require the collection and processing of a number of documents. They are often related to the following aspects:

• the buyer's creditworthiness,
• the legal status of real estate,
• an agreement concluded with the developer (in the case of buying a home on the primary market),
• notarial certificates of civil law.

Buying a property: additional payments

Don't forget about additional payments either:

When buying an apartment on the secondary market, the buyer must pay a 2% PCC tax on the cost of the purchased property;

On the primary market, the buyer is exempt from this tax!

• Notary services, court fees;
• Realtor services if real estate is bought with the help of an agency;
• When buying a property with a mortgage, additional payments include: real estate/life insurance, bank provisions, and real estate appraisal fees.
